I didn’t have to start from scratch to create something cool. I was impressed with how intuitive the interface was to use, and I liked that for the most part, there was flexibility in designing my graphic. There are other ways to create graphics, such as with Photoshop or Canva, but the biggest benefit to FotoJet I found were the templates. jet file that you can upload later to your FotoJet account. If you want to save a project for later, you can choose to save a project. FotoJet does not store any images you upload or graphics you create. When I was done, I hit the save button and uploaded it to my Instagram. I could easily remove text and other objects I didn’t want, add more content (I chose not to), and even change the filters and other options on the photos I did use. Overall though, it was very easy to get my desired effect. However, according to the FAQ, it’s possible to have rounded borders on images in collages. And as a result, I was unable to re-create the rounded edges effect of the photos in the film strip clipart. I couldn’t simply click on the photos in the template and replace them with my own. There’s weren’t a too many dinosaur options, so I ended up using Public Domain photos from the 1925 silent film, The Lost World. You can even upload your own photos from your computer or Facebook, or choose from photos from Pixabay. For my test, I chose a film template, which had a combination of photos, clipart, and text.įotoJet comes with a lot of options. Then you’ll see a blank canvas with the right proportions for whatever you’re creating.Īll of the options are in the left nav. Decide if you want to create a collage or a design. Here’s the final result:įotoJet is pretty intuitive to use. What I ended up doing was creating an image for I Know Dino’s Instagram. But it turns out to be a very useful tool for creating social media graphics. It’s also possible to create collages, invitations, flyers, cards, and magazine covers, which you can download and print on your own. The first thing I heard about FotoJet was that I could use it to make posters. But if you do choose to upgrade to the Plus account, for $4.99 per month, you get access to more editing tools and more content (templates, fonts, etc.). As a side note, you can sign up for a free account and use most of the features. The folks at FotoJet were kind enough to give me a premium account so I could test out all their features. With that in mind, I recently had the chance to try out a new graphics platform, called FotoJet. There’s a reason for the idiom, “a picture is worth a thousand words.” What is more likely to catch your eye on Twitter or Facebook? A few words and maybe a link, or a strong image that conveys a message? and available for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.Visuals are an important aspect of building platforms. It's fast and free with no viruses, ads, etc. You can save the collages in JPEG, PNG, or even Photoshop PSD format so that you can edit the collage yourself afterwards. I enjoy developing and using Shape Collage and I want others to be able to easily create their own collages. I then realized that my program was not restricted to merely creating rectangular collages like every other collage making software or website, and so, Shape Collage was born. So, I created a program that automatically creates photo collages and attempts to optimally place the photos in the collage using a machine learning algorithm that I developed. I used to use Photoshop to manually create the collages, but this would take forever. I was never satisfied with the collages created using Picasa and other programs because the photos are just randomly placed in the collage, the photos do not optimally cover the area of the collage, and many of the photos are covered up by other photos. I like to make collages to summarize albums of photos that I have so I can post it on my blog, use as my desktop wallpaper, use for scrap booking projects, etc. Shape Collage - Free Automatic Photo Collage Maker Shape Collage - Free Automatic Photo Collage Maker Shape Collage - Free Automatic Photo Collage Maker This is the project website (includes a lot of examples, screenshots, link to the download, etc.): I made each of those in less than a minute. One is 200 photos of my cat in the shape of a heart, and the other is Cody created with 161 images that I grabbed from the Donation Coder website (Shape Collage can grab photos directly from websites). I have attached two example collages to this post. I'd like to announce a (donationware) program I wrote called Shape Collage that automatically creates photo collages in different shapes, like a heart, cat, or in the shape of a word, very quickly and easily.
